The area of the sacred forests that you will traverse from north to south extends between Casentino and Mugello and will allow you to see Monte Falterona, the Forest of Campigna, and the Acquacheta valley, the hermitage of Camaldoli and that of La Verna, for a spiritual and mystical journey.
Stages and Route
First Stage
Lake Ponte - San Benedetto in Alpe. The route is 8.6 km long and takes 3-4 hours to complete.
Second Stage
The second stage of the trail from San Benedetto in Alpe reaches Castagno d'Andrea and follows the path that ascends the valley of the Acquacheta Stream, a beautiful route along the watercourse. The itinerary is 20.3 km long and takes 7 hours.

The third stage goes from Castagno d'Andrea to Campigna. The trail is 12.9 km long, along which you will pass Capo d'Arno, the Lake of Idols, and Monte Falco.

The fourth stage of the Trail of the Sacred Forests starts from Campigna and reaches the hermitage of Camaldoli, passing along the Passo della Calla. The trail is 13.1 km long and takes 5-6 hours.
