Glass beach
On Glass Beach, pieces of sea glass have washed ashore. This glass has been polished by the long time in the sea and friction with stones and sand. Sharp shards of glass become rounded 'pebbles'. Some pieces of sea glass are up to 100 years old and you can find them in different colours. If you pick up a handful of sand, you will see that almost all of them are tiny shimmering pieces of sea glass. The few grains of sand, which are not sea glass, are black sand particles.
