WHAT IS THE O2

The original name of the complex is Millennium Dome (Millennium Dome), as it was built as a large dome-shaped building with the aim of housing an exhibition to celebrate the turn of the third millennium. Few events took place in the following years and there were even proposals to build a super casino on the site. In 2007, renamed The O2, the venue reopened with a concert by singer Bon Jovi
WHAT TO DO AT THE O2
There's a lot of interesting stuff to check out at The O2 and new attractions are always coming up, so it's nice to keep an eye out for what's new. The map below shows the location of the complex's activities.

Shows at The O2 Arena: This is a 20,000 capacity venue used primarily for live music. It is located in the centre of The O2 and is the first multi-purpose arena in London. At The O2 Arena, several concerts by renowned artists and bands take place periodically. We've been to shows by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Celine Dion and Linkin Park. Movie theatre: There are 11 Cineworld movie theaters showing the latest releases.
Bowling: The Hollywood Bowl has 12 pre-available bowling alleys, including three VIP lanes. Gourmet hamburgers, hot dogs and shakes are served on site. There are also several toys to amuse all ages.
Roof climbing: Tip for the most adventurous and brave to see the city of London from above.
Exhibitions: Periodically, super cool exhibitions gain their space at the O2. We were at a special exhibition about the Star Wars saga and we loved it!

Nissan Innovation Station: A space owned by the car manufacturer Nissan, with interactive activities for all ages.
Up At The O2: For those with an adventurous spirit, in this activity you can make an expedition to the top of The O2 and stay suspended 53 metres above ground level, accompanied by a guide. Halfway up, a central platform offers 360-degree views of the city, before descending to the base of the site on the other side. From the platform, you can see the Olympic Park, the historic district of Greenwich and the neighbourhood of Canary Wharf.

WHERE TO EAT AT THE O2
There are several gastronomic options of bars, cafés and restaurants at The O2 for all tastes and budgets. They are in an area called The Avenue, a pedestrian path that surrounds the O2 Arena.

HOW TO GET TO THE O2
The easiest way to get to The O2 is via the North Greenwich tube station, serviced by Jubilee Line (grey line). Just exit the station and The O2 will be on your left.
