In the Cuneo Langhe, there is a special place that few people know about. Nestled among the vineyards is an attraction that you absolutely must not miss: the Chapel of Barolo.

The chapel, also known as the Chapel of the Brunate, is located in the Brunate vineyard of La Morra, in the Cuneo Langhe. It was built in 1914 by some farmers as a shelter from the elements; it was named the Chapel of the Most Holy Madonna of Grace but has never been consecrated. Here's how to reach it (and why).

Cappella del Barolo

The Chapel of Barolo is owned by the Ceretto family, who purchased the structure and the surrounding land in the 1970s. In 1999, it was restored by Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett, who gave new life and color to the building. The former took care of the interior decorations, while the latter worked on the interiors.

The Chapel of Barolo hosts numerous events, exhibitions, and tastings. On the official Ceretto Experience website, you can find all ongoing activities.

The best way to reach it is on foot from the locality of La Morra. From the Tourist Office, head to Piazza Castello, then proceed towards the ramparts and arrive at Via Marconi, finally reaching the provincial road. From there, take the Barolo path towards the vineyards in the direction of the Fontanazza hamlet, leading to the Chapel of Barolo.

The chapel is open every day from 9 AM to 7 PM and is accessible free of charge.
