Avenuer Route
1,050 kilometers for a travel itinerary connecting Dessau-Rosslau to Leipzig, retracing the historical and cultural development of Germany, showcasing the transformations of cities where the ancient and modern have learned to coexist today. What can be clearly seen along the route is the great attention that Germans continue to pay to nature: along the thousand kilometers, you will encounter tree-lined avenues and mountains typical of the landscape of Saxony; but also charming small villages where lush greenery thrives, and where you can enjoy traditional dishes from this region of Germany. Leipzig, the final stop (but also Weimar), is a city full of historical anecdotes, and every corner has something to tell about Germany's past.
The Castles of the "Romantic Road"
If you decide to embark on a road trip as a couple, one of the most interesting and enchanting itineraries in Germany is the one that crosses the so-called "Romantic Road." This is one of the most famous and frequented paths by tourists.
Along this route, you can immerse yourself in a fairy-tale atmosphere, discovering castles and medieval villages. Starting from Würzburg and covering a total of about 350 kilometers, you can admire the Neuschwanstein Castle, built in the 19th century and formerly owned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, which today hosts numerous exhibition halls, but also Hohenschwangau Castle, dating back to the 12th century. Additionally, there are many lesser-known medieval villages in Bavaria surrounding the fortresses, which still retain intact city walls and mansions. The ideal is to visit these places while enjoying excellent Bavarian chocolate with your loved one.
Discovering the Black Forest
For nature lovers, there is a route that crosses Germany and is absolutely unmissable. It is a rather short route compared to the previous ones, since the starting and ending points are only 60 kilometers apart, which takes you through the renowned and famous Black Forest. Starting from Baden-Baden and reaching Freudenstadt by car, you pass through pine forests, woods, and long tree-lined avenues. You can admire lakes, waterfalls, and streams located within the glades or encounter animals that have chosen the Black Forest as their home. It is a short but intense route, especially suitable for those who love to discover the wild face of the places they visit.
