Liguria Trail

In Liguria, there is a magnificent trail that crosses the region from one end to the other along the coast, between sea and mountains, from Ventimiglia to Bocca di Magra.

The Liguria Trail measures 650 km and connects the western Ligurian coast at Ventimiglia with the eastern coast up to the border with Lunigiana.

It immerses you in ancient villages and in nature that is always ready to surprise, with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. Divided into 28 stages, it follows part of the ancient Julia Augusta route, between Alassio and Albenga. It passes through Sanremo, Taggia, and Varigotti, before reaching the superb Genoa.

The trail completely winds along the coastline passing through villages, towns, and populated centers allowing you to discover the region at a leisurely pace. Its particular layout allows you to start at any point along its numerous stages, to traverse it entirely or just for a short stretch, and to find accommodation and supplies with great convenience along the way.

The Liguria Trail, recently marked, retraces one of the variants of the Via Francigena that from the French Riviera reached Rome, traversing the Ligurian coast.
