Urquhart Castle: The Castle on Loch Ness
Urquhart Castle: The Castle on Loch Ness
We are in Edinburgh, and before continuing our journey to Urquhart Castle, the castle on Loch Ness, we decide to rent a car heading toward the Highlands. Make sure that the cost of the rental includes the GPS: we are talking about relatively high prices (in pounds), especially compared to what we are used to in the United States. Of course, the GPS will increase the rental costs, but it will be essential for navigating and reaching your desired destination.
Inverness: The Capital of the Highlands
We are in Inverness, the capital of the beautiful mountainous region of the Highlands, one of the most beautiful and characteristic regions in Europe. During the scenic route, don't forget to make a brief stop between the A887 and the A82 (the road you will take if you decide to embark on this journey); you will be greeted by a landscape that's almost medieval, which unknowingly tells you the history of the area. From here, heading west and passing through Drumnadrochit, we will finally arrive at Urquhart Castle.
